There are very few places in Moyross for teenagers to meet each other and so many of them end up where Eugene did, in The Three Corner Field, a local field which is a hive of drinking, drug taking and anti social behaviour. As Eugene says - it was mad but that’s where I was.

Every week of the year we come across children who manage to grow flourish and smile despite the hardships they endure and the obstacles they face. And often this only happens because they find their way into projects which really care about them and their lives. One such story is Johnny from the Mendicity Centre in Dublin 8.

Dave is a 19 year old young man from Neilstown and a shining example of the life-changing effect IYF supported projects can have on the lives of young people. He is currently studying Sports Health and Fitness in Inchicore and his future looks bright, but it didn’t always look that way. A few summers ago Dave was hanging out with the wrong crowd, many of whom were serious offenders.

Because of the support of the Irish Youth Foundation children like Ann have a chance.
Ann is an ambitious and talented 12-year-old girl who lives in Ballymun and attends the Aisling After School Project. Every afternoon she comes here after school to have her dinner and do her homework. She loves coming to the project where she and her friends spend time together in a safe and nurturing environment. The Aisling Project, like many similar projects in disadvantaged areas, provides a safe place for young people to go between school and going home.
